Margaret J. Fischer-Minor, age 83, of Jefferson City, went to be with the Lord Saturday, July 11, 2009.
She was born May 31, 1926, in Spring Garden, the only daughter of Alonzo H. and Bertha C. Smith Baysinger, both deceased. On June 15, 1946, she married Hilbert F. Fischer and he preceded her in death June 24, 1989. On October 9, 2004, she married Wade L. Minor and he survives at their home.
Margaret attended Pleasant Grove elementary school and graduated from Olean High School. She also attended Capital City Business College.
She retired from the Division of Employment Security after almost 30 years of service.
She was a homemaker, who truly enjoyed visiting with friends and neighbors and loved being with her family.
Survivors include one daughter, Margie R. (Steve) Sapanas, Jefferson City; two granddaughters, Cassy L. (Russ) Bryant, Jefferson City and Tanya L. (Chris) Soval, Holts Summit; three step-grandsons, Steve Jr., (Leslie) Sapanas, Salt Lake City, Utah; Kelly (Candi) Sapanas, Jefferson City and B.J. Sapanas, Warrensburg; her husband's children, Ronald, Duane and Kenneth Minor and their families, all of the Portland, Oregon area; six great grandchildren, Remney, Gage and Kael Bryant, Jefferson City and Zion, Zoey and Keeven Soval, Holts Summit; one step-great granddaughter, Shea Sapanas, Jefferson City, also many great friends and relatives.
Margaret was also preceded in death by one brother, Aubrey Baysinger.
Services will be 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, July 14, at the Spring Garden Baptist Church with Rev. Ken Martin and Kim Smith officiating. Interment will be in the Spring Garden Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Monday, July 13, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Russellville. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Spring Garden Baptist Church or the Spring Garden Cemetery.
