Marcella Mae Koestner West

Marcella Mae Koestner West, age 91, of Russellville, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at Jefferson City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born January 22, 1922, in Russellville, a daughter of Martin and Birdie Sappenfield Scrivner. Marcella was united in marriage to Rudolph Koestner on July 31, 1943, and he preceded her in death July 15, 1984. On July 24, 1988, she married Herschel West, who preceded her in death February 13, 2003.
Marcella was a graduate of Russellville High School.
Her early employment began as a cook for the Russellville School district and later the Oberman Pants Factory in Jefferson City. For several years she was the switchboard operator in Russellville and later retired from Charles E. Still Hospital in Jefferson City, where she ran the switchboard for many years.
Marcella had been a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Lohman and later the Enon Baptist Church south of Russellville.
She enjoyed music, especially when she could go with her husband Herschel and listen while he played fiddle at the local music festivals. However, her greatest enjoyment came from being with her family.
Survivors include two children and their spouses, Jane and David Jones and Jerry and Laurie Koestner all of Lohman; two stepsons and their spouses, Keith and Karan West and Kevin and Kristen West and their families; seven grandchildren, Diane Ott and husband David, Susan Oliver, Donna Roe and husband Tim; Eric Koestner and wife Mary, Laura, Devin and Jahanna Koestner, eight great grandchildren, Debra Lake and husband Jack, Crystal Ashley and husband John, Madison Oliver, Austin and Gavin Roe, and Ella, Natalie and Lance Koestner, five great-great grandchildren, Jack, William and Mason Lake and Faith and Michael Ashley, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, one grandson, Robert Wayne Jones, one stepdaughter, Joyce Bland, two brothers, Foster and Ralph Scrivner and two sisters, Marie Strobel and Fay Sommerer.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 31, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Russellville with Rev. Gary Digby officiating. Interment will be in the Enloe Cemetery west of Russellville. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the funeral home on Friday.
