Mancil Marriott

February 20, 1937 — June 11, 2018

Mancil Lee Marriott, age 81, lifelong resident of Stover, passed away Monday morning, June 11, 2018, at the family farm where he was born with his loving family by his side.

He was born February 20, 1937, in the Little Buffalo area, the youngest child of Raymond and Cloie Kreglinger Marriott.  On August 18, 1962, at the Freewill Baptist Church, just north of the farm, Mancil was united in marriage to Eva Lee “Sue” Smith, who survives at their home.

He was a 1955 graduate of Stover High School.  Mancil also served his country in the United States Navy, receiving his Honorable discharge April 25, 1956.

Mancil's passion was his farm; whether it was the early years of raising and milking Holstein cows, raising and showing Quarter horses, to operating Cargill’s turkey egg production barns, he thoroughly enjoyed being on and working the family farm.

He was also dedicated to the community he lived in, helping establish the Buffalo Creek Crime Watch and the Buffalo Creek Saddle Club.  In the early years he volunteered his time in the show ring, judging horse shows for local 4-H groups.

Mancil didn’t know a stranger, he was often found at the local restaurant, enjoying a cup of coffee, telling a good joke and giving advice to anyone who would listen.  In his free time he could be found on his lawn mower, however, his greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife of 55 years, he is survived by six children, Mike Marriott and wife Donna and Gayle Brandes and companion Bill Hurt all of Sedalia; Marsha Flores and husband Jorge of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico; Cindy Beckmann and husband Shannon; Lee Marriott and wife Stacy and Matt Marriott and wife Stephanie all of Stover; one brother, Melvin “Sonny” Marriott and wife Darlene of Stover; grandchildren, Ashley Raetz and husband Clint, Josh Brandes and fiancee Salena Frazier, Isabell Flores, Sebastian Flores, Keith Johnson and wife Samantha, Jay Johnson, Allison Ehlers and fiance Jacob Metscher, Alan Ehlers, Brady Beckmann, Jestin Beckmann, Kyler Beckmann, Bailey Marriott, Kelly Humphrey and husband Dustin, Morgan McCoin and husband Randy, Trey Marriott, Payden Hibdon, Lawson Hibdon, Conner Hibdon, Asia Marriott, Larkin Marriott, and Jacob Carver, great grandchildren, Riley and Oaklee Raetz; Landon and Ryker Brandes, Bryson and Blake Johnson, Rowen McCoin, Piper Hibdon and Spencer and Kadence Beckmann, two additional grandchildren are due at the end of the year, along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
