Louise Campbell, age 80, of Versailles, died shortly before midnight, Saturday, September 25, 2010, at St. Marys Health Center in Jefferson City.
She was born November 5, 1929, in Kansas City, Kansas a daughter of William L. and Lois Bunch Greenup. On May 10, 1953, in Eldon, Louise was united in marriage to James W. "Jim" Campbell, who survives at their home.
Louise was a 1947 graduate of Eldon High School. She was employed with Ozark Central Telephone Company, which later became Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, for 16 years. She later worked for the Bank of Versailles for 15 years and Twin Oaks Apparel in Versailles and Laurie, retiring after eight years of employment.
She was a longtime, faithful member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Versailles, serving as a Deacon and a greeter for Sunday worship.
Louise and Jim were charter-members of the Rolling Hills Country Club, where she enjoyed many a round of golf. She also enjoyed bowling and entertaining family and friends.
In addition to her husband of 57 years, she is survived by one son, Jim "J.C." Campbell and his fiancee, Dixie Salzman of Versailles; one sister, Lorene Erickson and husband Lefty of Eldon; also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Loren Greenup.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 30, at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Versailles with Rev. Robert Ross officiating. Interment will be in the Versailles Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 29, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Versailles.
