Lois I. Bush

Lois Irene (Marriott) Bush, age 85, of Independence, passed away, Wednesday, May 11, 2016 in Blue Springs, MO.
She was born on February 24, 1931, south of Stover, a daughter of Raymond and Cloie Kreglinger Marriott.
On May 19, 1951, in Cole Camp, MO Lois was united in marriage to Poe E. Bush, and to this union three children were born. Poe preceded her in death December 21, 2012.
She was a 1949 graduate of Stover High School and attended two years of college in Warrensburg, MO.
Lois and Poe made the Kansas City area their home for many years. Lois worked for and later retired from Armco Steel in Kansas City.
In 1992, Lois and Poe returned to the Stover area, where she was active in the community, serving on the Stover Cemetery Board, a member of the Stover First Baptist Church and also volunteering countless hours at the Golden Age Care Center.
In July 2009, Lois and Poe returned to the Kansas City area to be near their children. Lois enjoyed making quilts, working with ceramics, and always had an interest in genealogy.
Survivors include two children: Tommy (Cindy) Bush and Sheila Bush-Carver, both of Independence, two brothers and sister-in-laws, Melvin "Sonny" (Darlene) Marriott and Mancil (Sue) Marriott, all of Stover, MO. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Jodi (Robert) Bush-Davis, Mandy Bush-Wright, both of Fort Scott KS., Trisha (Robert Jr.)Carver- Guffey of Kansas City MO., Benjamin (Kristina) Bush of Independence MO., and Daniel Carver of Charlotte NC., 12 great-grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, Timmy Joe Bush, two sisters, Leland Taylor and Shirley Wilson and sister-in-law, Joyce Marriott.
Funeral services will be 3:00pm Monday, May 16, at the Stover First Baptist Church With Rev. James Butterfield officiating. Interment will be in the Stover Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:30p.m. until service time at the church on Monday.
