Lizzie Simmons, age 86, of Stover, died Wednesday, January 2, 2008, at the California Care Center in California.
She was born January 1, 1922, in Versailles, a daughter of Ben and Mary Stockdall Wilson, both deceased. She married Alfred Simmons in Versailles and he preceded her in death.
She worked at the Tipton Pants Factory for many years.
She had been a member of the Trinity Chapel Church southeast of Stover.
Survivors include two sisters, Myrtle Stepp of California and Naomi West Peoples of Versailles; two grandsons, also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband and her parents, one son, Melvin Wray Wilson, four brothers, Nelson, George, Nobel and Winfred Wilson, and four sisters, Tillie Stepp, Maggie Brown, Lula Davenport and Sarah Sidebottom preceded her in death.
Graveside services will be 11:30 A.M. Friday, January 4, at the Trinity Chapel Cemetery southeast of Stover with Dr. Todd Forman officiating.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. - 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 4, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Versailles.
