Leanna Dee Ranabargar Lueckenotte, age 52, of Centertown, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2015, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born February 24, 1963, in Jefferson City the daughter of Darrell "Bo" and Glenda Swearingen Ranabargar.
Dee was a 1981 graduate of Jefferson City High School, where she was a member of the first girls' basketball team at the school. She received her Bachelor's degree in Science and her Master's degree in Business Administration from Columbia College.
Dee began her professional IT career with government jobs in Jefferson City. First with the Department of Agriculture, then Legal Services, later Social Services, before retiring from the Office of Administration. Not one to sit still, she went back to work for Boone County in Columbia, where she was employed until her health failed her.
To serve others was Dee's motto. This was shown through her involvement as a certified EMT and through volunteering with the Cole County First Responders, the Russellville/Lohman Fire Protection District, and as a member of the EMS Funeral Honors Team.
Dee was a gifted artist, creating beautiful stained glass windows for local churches and private individuals. She enjoyed watching NASCAR and going fishing with her dad. Most of all Dee loved being with her family, especially being a mother to her son, Jonathan.
Survivors include her son, Jonathan Lueckenotte and his fiancée Kacie Sapp of Ashland; her parents, Bo and Glenda Ranabargar of Centertown; her brother, Dan Ranabargar of Russellville; a niece, Erika Leonard of Jefferson City; a nephew, Derek Ranabargar and wife Courtney of Holts Summit; four great nephews, Ethan, Brendan, Cooper, and Hunter, a special cousin, Betty Breshears and daughter Kara, along with other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 7, at the Centertown Baptist Church with Rev. Stephen Bickel officiating. Interment, with EMS honors, will be in the Centertown Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. Sunday, September 6, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Russellville. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Susan G. Koman Foundation, the Russellville/Lohman Fire Protection District, or the Cole County First Responders.
