Lawrence Eugene Wessing

Larry Wessing, 70, of Pilot Grove, Missouri passed away Thursday, March 31, 2016 at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City. He was one of 4 sons born at Clear Creek, Missouri to Cyril and Katie Kempf Wessing.

Larry was a graduate of Pilot Grove High School Class of 1963. He was very capable at working with his hands and had the ability to engineer almost anything in order to make it work. He retired from Fuqua Homes after many years of employment.

He was a member of the Clear Creek Knights of Columbus and the American Legion. He enjoyed farming, fishing and hunting, and especially spending time with his family.

Larry and Sherry were married April 20, 1968 and would have soon celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife Sherry of the home; daughter Lynn Schupp and her husband Randy of Pilot Grove; son John Wessing and his wife Crystal of California, Missouri; grandson Gavin Randall Schupp; granddaughter Maggie Rae Wessing; brothers Joe Lee Wessing and his wife Joyce of Boonville, Jim Wessing and his wife Marjorie of Pilot Grove, David Wessing and his wife Kay of Pilot Grove; nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 AM Monday, April 4, 2016 at St. John's Catholic Church at Clear Creek with burial to follow in the St. John's Cemetery. Prayer service (Rosary) is at 5:00 PM followed by visitation on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pilot Grove.

Memorials are suggested to St. John's Cemetery at Clear Creek or the American Hart Association.
