L. Glenn Deffenbaugh

L. Glenn Deffenbaugh, age 95, lifelong resident of Versailles, passed away Friday, April 10, 2015, at the Harry S Truman Veterans Hospital in Columbia.
He was born on the family farm in Morgan County, a son of Lewis Truman and Lois Madole Deffenbaugh. On December 19, 1943, Glenn was united in marriage to Vera Hansen who preceded him in death May 15, 2003.
Glenn served his country during World War II in the United States Army, receiving his Honorable Discharge in July of 1942.
He was a lifelong farmer, who enjoyed spending time on the farm raising crops and cattle.
For the past several years he enjoyed his weekday trips to the Versailles Nutrition Site, where he could enjoy a good meal and visit with friends.
Survivors include one brother, Gene Deffenbaugh and wife Naomi of Springfield; two sisters, Maurine Davenport of Versailles and June Kidwell and husband Basil of Springfield; along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Charles Davenport.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Jim Kruse officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment, with military honors, will be in the West Lawn Addition of the Versailles Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Versailles Nutrition Site.
