Kenneth "Ken" Allen Pomering

Kenneth Allen "Ken" Pomering, age 72, of Stover, passed away Saturday, August 20, 2016, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.
He was born February 13, 1944, in Rockford, Illinois, a son of Darwin and Violet Tucker Pomering. Ken was united in marriage to Ada Purscell Webb on April 14, 1984 in Stover. Ada survives at their home.
He was in the Army Reserves for six years. Ken was employed at Gates Rubber Co in Rockford, Illinois as a tool, drafting, and equipment engineer. He was later transferred to Versailles where retained those positions until retiring at the age of fifty-five. While working at Gates, Ken met his future wife, Ada and they enjoyed the past 32 years together.
Ken enjoyed fishing, hunting, wood working, and being at home with his cats and dogs, and watching wildlife animals.
In addition to his wife, Ada, he is survived by one son, Gregory Pomering of Kansas City, Kansas; three daughters, Kary Robinson of Versailles, Lisa Vansell and husband Ricky of Stover, and Lana Webb and companion Teri Ehlers of Firth, Nebraska; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one brother, Richard Pomering and wife Myrna of Stillman Valley, Illinois; and one step sister, Deborah Borgstrom and husband David of Rainier, Oregon; his aunt Elva Stewart of Rockford, Illinois; along with other relatives and many friends.
Ken was preceded in death by his father, Darwin Pomering; his mother, Vi Bremer and his step father, Laverne "Bud" Bremer.
A Celebration of Kenneth's life will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 27, 2016 at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Stover. Inurnment will be in the Stover Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
