August 20, 1958 — July 23, 2011

Judith Lynn "Judy" Brown, age 52, of Gravois Mills, Missouri died unexpectedly, Saturday, July 23, 2011, at a friend's home near Laurie.
She was born August 20, 1958, in Los Angeles, California, to Clifford Michael Darryl Brown and Patricia Lee Cobb, who survive. She was adopted by George and Patricia Melton. Her father survives in St. Jacob, Illinois and her mother preceded her in death.
She grew up in Illinois, the only daughter in the Melton family, where she helped raise her younger brothers. For the past 20 years she made the Lake of the Ozarks area her home. Judy worked as a waitress at the Osage River Lodge in Laurie, B & P Hickory Pit in Sunrise Beach and Cactus Rose also in Laurie.
Judy loved the ocean, especially Seal Beach in California, where she could walk along the shore collecting sea shells. She also enjoyed antiques and had a soft spot for all animals. To those who knew her, she was a loving person, with an open heart.
She is also survived by one daughter and son-in-law, April and Rob Audiss of Surprise, Arizona; her longtime companion, Frank Stimach of Gravois Mills; five brothers and two sisters-in-law, Loren and Joann Melton of Las Vegas, Nevada; Brian Melton, Dean Melton and Aaron and Brenda Melton all of St. Jacob, Illinois and Joseph Brown of California state; a grandson, Tristan Audiss, a granddaughter, Lola Belle Miller, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
One daughter, Jami Ann Prader, preceded her in death on June 17, 2011.
In keeping with Judy's wishes, she will be cremated. A Celebration of Judy's life will be held at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 26, on the patio at Coconut's Caribbean Bar and Grill, 15208 Red Hollow Road, Gravois Mills, Missouri.
