Joseph "Joe" Tomblinson

Joseph N. "Joe" Tomblinson, age 80, of Versailles, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at the Good Shepherd Care Center in Versailles.
He was born January 31, 1936, in Versailles, a son of Joseph and Gertrude Parks Tomblinson. On November 21, 1995, Joe was united in marriage to Patricia J. McMillin Cochran. Pat survives at their home.
Joe worked as a mechanic for 46 years at Wenger's Farm Equipment Company in Versailles, specializing in the repair of John Deere equipment.
He was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Versailles, where he enjoyed spending time with his church family.
He and Pat enjoyed playing Texas Hold-Em, often playing twice a week until his health began to fail him.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Jake Tomblinson and Mary Lou Gordon, both of Jefferson City; two stepchildren, Casey Cochran of Kansas City and Shelly McMillin of Versailles; three brothers, Bobby Gene Tomblinson, Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Raymond Tomblinson and Ralph Tomblinson both of Versailles; four sisters, Peggy Nowack of Eldon; Evelyn Blackburn, Ann Weicken and Mary Dowell all of Versailles; three grandsons, along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Carl, Truman, Richard, and William Tomblinson.
A Celebration of Life will be at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, March 17, at the Trinity Baptist Church in Versailles; with the family receiving friends from 4:30 p.m. until service time.
In keeping with his wishes, his body was donated to ATSU Gift of Body Program at Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Joe Tomblinson Memorial Fund or the American Cancer Society.
