Johnnie Mae Kreisel

Johnnie Mae (Glenn) Kreisel, 72, passed away October 8, 2015 at her home surrounded by her children.

She was born July 25, 1943 in Sedalia, Missouri to John and Harretta (Needy) Glenn. She was a 1961 graduate of Otterville School and a 1965 graduate of Missouri Valley College where she received her teaching degree.

She married Albert Edward Kreisel on July 13, 1962 in Cole Camp, Missouri.

She taught 2nd and 4th grade at Otterville for 30 years, retiring in 1996. She was active in the Otterville Presbyterian Church where she served as an Elder, Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent, and teacher. She was also involved in Presbyterian Women and Otterville Senior Citizens Center.

She loved to play board games, work crossword puzzles, and take road trips.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister Janice Sue Glenn.

Survivors include her daughter Kathy Thompson and husband Bruce of Otterville, and son John (J.A.) Kreisel and partner Jonathan Batchelor of Belleville, Illinois. Two grandsons, Bruce (Glenn) Thompson and his wife Alicia and Garret Thompson and his wife Kayla, a granddaughter, Kit Thompson, as well as many brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews, students, colleagues and friends.

Services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, October 12, 2015 at the Otterville Presbyterian Church with burial immediately following at the IOOF Cemetery in Otterville. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 6:00 PM Sunday, October 11th at Meisenheimer Funeral Home in Otterville.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Otterville Presbyterian Church.
