John Robertson

August 24, 1939 — March 4, 2015

John Richard Robertson, age 75, of Stover, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at his home.
He was born August 24, 1939, in Maryville, a son of John and Sibyl West Robertson. On February 25, 1967, in Muncie, KS, John was united in marriage to Marjorie Porter Robertson, who survives at the home.
John was a graduate of Turner High School class of 1957. He served in the Navy until becoming a maintenance engineer for thirty-five years by Deluxe Check Co-op in Kansas City, KS. He was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church. He was a HAM in the National Association of Amateur Radio (ARRL). He enjoyed being an all-around handyman, gardening, woodworking, rock polishing, and being an automotive mechanic.
Along with his wife Marjorie, he is survived by four sons, Paul F. Robertson of Caledonia, MI, Glen V. Robertson of Tampa, FL, John P. Robertson of Stover, and Keith Robertson of Kansas City, KS; two daughters, Cinthia Oelschlaeger of Tonganoxi, KS and Marguerite "Peggy" Payne of Cullman, AL; one sister, Carol A. George of Independence; fourteen grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.
John was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, David Robertson.
Funeral Services will be Monday, June 8, 2015 at 10:00 a.m., at the Higginsville Veterans Cemetery with interment following. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
