John Charles Fox, Jr.

John Charles Fox, Jr., age 23, of Versailles, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2016, at his home.
He was born September 19, 1992, in Kansas City, a son of John Charles Sr., and Mary Parker Fox.
John was a 2011 graduate of Morgan County R-II High School in Versailles, where he was a member of Beta Club, the Spanish Club, and a four year starting member of the Scholar Bowl team.
In May of 2015, John graduated Magna Cum Laude and obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Pure Mathematics from Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO) in Cape Girardeau, where out of more than 1000 graduates, he was one of 29 seniors who graduated as a member of the Jane Stevens Honors program. At the time of his death he had completed one year of his Master's program at SEMO.
At the age of two, Mary knew John was going to be a mathematician, even at that young age he had a knack for numbers. He was an avid chess player, gaining notoriety through articles written about his skill in the SEMO newsletter. John was also a diehard Kansas City Chiefs fan, looking forward to football season every year.
Survivors include his mother, Mary Fox of the home; his paternal grandmother, Nancy Glauner of Buckner; along with aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
John was preceded in death by his father, John C. Fox, Sr.
A graveside service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 29, in the West Lawn Addition of the Versailles Cemetery, with his uncle, James Parker officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 10:50 a.m. at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Versailles.
