John O. Evans, Jr.

August 1, 1925 — September 10, 2016

John O. Evans, Jr., age 91, of Russellville, passed away Saturday, September 10, 2016 at his home.
He was born in Terre Haute, Indiana, a son of John Oscar Sr., and Tillie Huston Evans. On August 1, 1947, in Terre Haute, John was united in marriage to Delores L. Armour who preceded him in death March 8, 2012.
He was a Navy veteran, serving his country in World War II.
John was employed with Eastman-Kodak located in Oak Brook, Illinois. He retired as regional manager following several decades of employment and working in various locations throughout the country.
John and Delores retired to the Russellville area, where he stayed active keeping up his small acreage, reading, woodworking, tinkering with automobiles, and visiting with his neighbors.
He was a member of the Corticelli Baptist Church west of Russellville.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and John Johnson of Benton, Kentucky; one sister, Rose Shaw, Greenville, Indiana; seven grandchildren, Gary (Angie) Brewer of Webster, NY; Jessica (Andy) Haefner, Natali Anello and Teddy Anello, all of Rochester, NY; Amanda Connolley of Lombard, IL; Evan Connolley of Wheaton, IL and Paul Connolley of Lily Lake, IL, five great grandchildren, Nick and Kaitlin Brewer, Lindsay and Jack Haefner and Peyton Connolley, and one brother-in-law, William Armour and wife Mary Jane of Jefferson City.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Linda Kozak, two brothers, Reid and Walter Evans and two sisters, Pearl Lucas and Floy Lloyd.
Services will be 3:00 p.m. Thursday, September 15, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Russellville with Dr. Rick Seaton officiating. Interment, with military funeral honors, will follow in the Enloe Cemetery west of Russellville.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
