Jimmy Monks

Jimmy Monks, 74, of Bunceton, MO, passed away Saturday, January 15, 2022, at his home.

He was born December 13, 1947, in Tipton, MO to Harry Ashley and Nell Lucille (Born) Monks, who preceded him in death.

On May 9, 1986, in California, MO Jimmy was united in marriage to Teresa J. “Janie” Bret, who survives of the home.

Jimmy served his country honorably in the US Army during the Vietnam era. He worked in construction throughout his career. His work had many highlights including Hill Construction, 6 months in Cameroon, Africa for Kalicak International, Director of Construction for the Lodge of the Four Seasons and owner/operator of Monks Enterprises.  He enjoyed fishing, camping, living the farm life, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of American Legion Post #229 in Lake Ozark, MO.

He is survived by two daughters, Robin Monks (David Meador) of Fenton, MO and  Amy Yore  (Yance) of Naperville, IL ; four grandsons, Dalton Weber, Jack Yore, Chris Meador, and Nick Meador (Kristin); two great-granddaughters, Caroline and Abigail Meador; and one sister, Nancy AuBuchon of Florissant, MO.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Robert Monks, Billy Monks, Jerry Monks, Tom Monks, and Harry, Jr.; and two sisters, Lucille Layne and Sue Berry.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at Meisenheimer-Page-Dady Funeral home in Tipton, MO with Peggy Richardson, officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9:00 am until service time.

Burial will be at St. Andrew Catholic Cemetery, Tipton, with full military honors provided by the Missouri Army National Guard Honors Team and American Legion Post #304.

Pallbearers are Dalton Weber, Jack Yore, Carl Hibdon, Kenny Petree, Andy Petree, Clint Petree, and Landon Petree.

Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Andrew Catholic Cemetery or Tipton Veteran’s Memorial in care of American Legion Post #304, 28336 Round Hill Rd, Tipton, MO 65081
