Jimmie Ray Upton

Jimmie Ray Upton, 81, of Tipton, MO, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Brunswick Nursing & Rehab in Brunswick, MO.

Jimmie was born on November 4, 1943, in Idabel, OK, to John and Lucille (Crawford) Upton, who preceded him in death.

On October 24, 1986, he married the love of his life, Helen Louise Spencer, in Tipton, MO. Jimmie proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He worked as a marine mechanic and spent time on the road as a truck driver. Helen was his soulmate and best friend-she taught him how to fish Missouri's creeks, and he loved helping her with the garden and mowing the yard.

Jimmie will be deeply missed by his wife, Helen; his sons, Andrew John Upton and Jimmy Upton, Jr.; two step-daughters, Loletta Combs and Paula Handshaw; and his grandsons, Daniel and Mason Upton. He was preceded in death by his parents and his infant daughter, Charlotte Upton.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2025, at Meisenheimer-Page-Dady Funeral Home in Tipton, MO. Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. until service time. Jimmie will be laid to rest with full military honors at Versailles Cemetery.
