Jerry Allen Anderson, age 56, of Stover, passed away unexpectedly at his home, Tuesday, June 3, 2014. He was born December 19, 1957, in Canton, Iowa; a son of Vernon R. Sr., and Edith Ann Gerdts Anderson. On June 14,, 2008, in Stover, Jerry was united in marriage to Donice Burnett McCollom, who survives at their home. He was a 1976 graduate of Benton County R-II High School in Lincoln. He was an Army veteran, serving his country from 1976 - 1986, where he was a medical specialist. Jerry was employed in the health care industry, working at Brooking Park and Bothwell Regional Health Center, both located in Sedalia. Jerry loved to be outside, working in his garden or on projects around the house. He enjoyed canning the vegetables he grew, fishing, camping, four wheeling and NASCAR. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his stepfather, Robert Creed of Otterville and his friend Leta Mae Higgins of Tipton; three children, Michelle, Melissa and Robert Anderson; three step children, Kim Gonzagowski and husband Marc, Raymond Don McCollom and fiancée Chantel Jones and Misty Baldwin and husband Trent, two brothers, Vernon Anderson, Jr. and wife Debbie of Bunceton and Richard Anderson and Susie McCoy of Ozark; eight grandchildren, six step grandchildren, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Vernon Anderson, Sr. and his mother, Edith Ann Creed. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 7, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Stover. Interment, with military honors, will be in the Chaney Chapel Cemetery south of Stover. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until service time at the funeral home in Stover.
