Irene Helen Wolf

Irene Helen Wolf, 93, passed away Saturday, November 28, 2015 at Moniteau County Care Center in California, Missouri with family by her side.

Irene, one of eight children, was born September 14, 1922 to Urban F. and Lily Wesselman Schmitt in Pilot Grove, Missouri.

On June 22, 1946 Irene and Stanley L. Wolf became husband and wife and were married for 67 years at his death on November 25, 2013. Together they raised three sons and three daughters and lived most of their married life in Tipton, Missouri.

Irene was a guard at the Correctional Facility in Tipton for a number of years and preceding that worked at the Biltwell Factory also in Tipton. Her pass times included embroidery and cooking with a specialty in cookies that were enjoyed by many, especially at Christmas. She enjoyed her family with grandchildren being some of her favorite people. She loved company and enjoyed many visitors while at the nursing home.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents; husband Stanley; sons Thomas F. and Charles W. Wolf; son-in-law David Dawson; four brothers and three sisters.

Surviving Irene are children Phyllis Rimel and her husband Bob of Tipton, Mary Lou Dawson of Monroe City, Tony Wolf and his wife Sue of Tipton, Sandy Schaeffer and her husband Ken of California; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial for Irene H. Wolf will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at the St. Andrews Catholic Church with burial immediately following at St. Andrews Cemetery in Tipton. Visitation will be held from 9-10 AM prior to the services.
