Inez Mae Taylor Kreglinger, 94, of Marshfield, Missouri, formerly of Stover, Missouri, the first child of Lester Wray and Blanche Bates Taylor, was born September 21, 1916, in the small community of Zora in Morgan County, Missouri. She departed this life Sunday, December 5, 2010, in St. John's Regional Health Center, Springfield.
The family moved to Orangeville, California in the early 1920's, where Inez attended first grade. She recalled her father purchasing a brand-new Model-T Ford to make the trip to California. However, he was not happy there, and the family returned to Missouri by train, moving into the same dwelling they lived in prior to their move.
Inez attended Riverview school, graduating from the 8th grade in 1931. She married Theodore Kreglinger, May 2, 1933, in Versailles, Missouri. They had two daughters, Inez and Lela. They built a house south of Stover on land homesteaded by Theodore's grandparents. In the mid 50's Theodore found employment in Kansas City; they always came "home" on weekends and for vacations. As a young wife and mother, Inez worked hard raising her two daughters, always having a garden, chickens, and working alongside her husband in the fields, milking cows, etc.
She loved to quilt, crochet, embroidery, and sew (making clothes for herself, her daughters, and later her granddaughter.) She enjoyed houseplants, especially African Violets, crossword and word-search puzzles and reading, always keeping her hands and mind busy.
Inez accepted Jesus as her Savior in her early 20's and was baptized, currently being a member of Faith Southern Baptist Church in Marshfield.
Survivors include her daughter, Inez Marie Kreglinger Eddy of Marshfield; grandchildren, Jeanne Eddy Freeman and Daren Eddy and wife Linda all of Marshfield and Duane Eddy and wife Jennifer of Conway; great grandchildren, Jessica Freeman, Dara, Katlyn and Janelle Eddy and Justin Eddy all of Marshfield; step-great granddaughters, Samantha and Shelby Bell of Butlerville, Indiana; sister, Ila James of Ottawa, Kansas; sisters-in-law, Helen Taylor of Independence and Joanne Taylor of Overland Park, Kansas; also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Inez was preceded in death by her parents, husband Theodore, daughter, Lela Kreglinger, son-in-law, Albert Eddy, grandson, Jonathan Eddy, brothers, Raymond and Melvin Taylor and sister Mildred Marriott.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, December 10, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Stover with Rev. Scott Weldon officiating. Interment will be in the Stover Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 P.M. until service time at the funeral home on Friday.
