Hilma Lee Hull, age 91, of Versailles, passed away Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Good Shepherd Care Center in Versailles.
Hilma was born on October 3, 1923, near Fortuna, the daughter of Arthur and Gertrude Hanby Lampton.
On March 28, 1943, Hilma married Jesse J. Hull, Jr., who preceded her in death August 16, 2003.
Hilma began her education in a one room school house and graduated from Versailles High School. She then attended Central Missouri State Teachers College in Warrensburg. She taught school several years in rural Morgan and Pettis Counties.
She was a long time member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school and served as the church pianist for many years.
Hilma is survived by her children, James Hull of Barnett; Jerry Hull and wife Sharon of Eldon; Jackie Imler and husband Gary of Versailles; Joe Hull and wife Annette of Montrose, Colorado; John Hull of Fortuna; J. Mark Hull and wife Brenda of Jackson, Wyoming and Jennifer Jean Goodson and husband Charles of Albany, Georgia; twenty-two grandchildren, thirty-five great grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren, one brother, Elroy Lampton of Blue Springs, a sister-in-law, Hazel Lampton of Versailles; along with several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Hilma was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Elmo, Arlo, Woodrow and Orval, five sisters, Alma, Wilma, Marie, Elnore and Bernice and one daughter-in-law, Ruth Hull of Barnett.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 27, at the First Christian Church in Versailles with funeral services following at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Charles Goodson officiating. Brad Andrews will be singing, "Come Home It's Supper Time" and It Is Well." Interment will be in the Glensted Cemetery in Glensted. Henry Imler, Grant Imler, Barrett Hull, Michael Hull, Sky Hull, Justin Goodson, Travis Goodson, and Cooper Andrews serving as casket bearers. Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice Compasses or Glensted Cemetery Fund.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Versailles.
