Helen Marie (Marriott) Welpman

Helen Marie Welpman, age 86, of Bedford, TX, passed away Friday, June 9, 2023, at her home.
Helen was born March 2,1937, in Florence, MO, a daughter of Arnold and Thelma (Gillespie) Marriott. She married the love of her life, Merle Nelson Welpman on June 5, 1955 in Stover, MO.
Helen graduated from Stover High School. She worked as secretary for several churches, American Bible Society and served as a secretary for an Army General in Leavenworth, KS. She enjoyed watching NASCAR. Her favorite driver was Jeff Gordon, whom she got to meet personally. She also learned at the age of 48 to snow ski which she fell in love with and skied until age 74.
Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Merle Welpman; two children: Jana Owen (Larry) Haltom City, TX and Jeffrey Welpman of Fort Worth, TX; and two grandchildren, Samantha Blakely (Brian) and Kyle Owen (Amy). And 3 great grandchildren by Samantha: Elliott, Francis and Harry.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Donna Fae Sidebottom and her brother, Galen Marriott.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 15, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the Scrivner-Page-Dady Funeral Home in Stover, MO. Graveside services will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Stover Cemetery.
