Helen L. Hainen

Helen Louise Hainen, age 90, of Gravois Mills, died Monday, September 27, 2010, at the Tipton Manor in Tipton.
She was born December 6, 1919, in Florence, a daughter of James Arlington and Lucy Elizabeth Speaker Sanders, who are both deceased.
Helen married Allie Myers and to his union one daughter was born. Allie preceded her in death. On March 13, 1953, in Versailles, Helen married Sylvester J. "Babe" Hainen and he preceded her in death March 31, 1984.
She was a graduate of Otterville High School.
For many years Helen was employed at the Weber Shoe Factory in Tipton and later at a shoe factory in Sedalia.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Laurie.
Helen was an accomplished seamstress, making clothes for many of her family members. She also enjoyed going fishing and tending to her extensive garden, as long as her health allowed.
Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn Goodwin of Gravois Mills; one sister, Mary Thomas of Syracuse; three grandchildren, Deborah Benton of Oklahoma; Rhonda Soldan and husband Glen of Kansas and James S. Crabtree and wife Gail of Missouri; five great grandsons, Greg Benton, David and Mitchael Smith, Chase and Rex Soldan; three great-great grandsons, Kingston Benton, Colton Ellis and Jacob Smith, also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Helen was also preceded in death by two sons-in-law, James Crabtree and William "Bill" Goodwin; four brothers, Cloyd Sanders, James Ralph Sanders, Nolan Sanders and Norman Sanders and one sister, Roberta Page.
Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Friday, October 1, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Marc Knapp officiating. Interment will be in the Tipton Masonic Cemetery in Tipton.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 P.M. Friday, October 1 at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Versailles.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association, the American Heart Association of the charity of the donor's choice.
