Hazel Fern Riggs

Hazel F. Riggs, age 81, of Versailles, passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2014, at Lake Regional Health Center in Osage Beach. She was born June 5, 1932, in Versailles, a daughter of Charlie and Edna Roe Porter. Hazel worked as a seamstress with the Tipton Pants Factory for many years.  She was a member of the West Union Baptist Church south of Versailles.  She enjoyed sewing, quilting and working in her garden. Survivors include three children, Larry Riggs and Donna Miller and husband Bernie of Versailles and Sue Mullins of Latham; one brother William Franklin Porter of Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, Merrie, Laurie, Nicole, Travis, Colleen, Arnold, Penny and Cody, sixteen great grandchildren, along with other relatives and friends. Hazel was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson, Donald Dean Riggs. Private services will be held, with interment in the Ritchie Cemetery near Versailles.
