Hazel J. Ebeling

June 2, 1930 — August 29, 2016

Hazel J. Ebeling, age 86, of Stover, passed away Monday, August 29, 2016, at Good Samaritan Care Center in Cole Camp.
She was born June 2, 1930, in Cole Camp, the only child of Walter R. and Laura G. Dieckmann Ebeling. She was baptized June 22, 1930, at Christ Lutheran Church in Stover by Pastor P.E. Stoltz. On April 2, 1944, Hazel was confirmed by Pastor H.A. Kolm at Christ Lutheran Church, the confirmation verse chosen was John 10:28, " And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand."
Hazel was a 1949 graduate of Stover High School.
She retired from Smithson's, Inc. in Stover, after many years of employment.
She was a lifelong member of Christ Lutheran Church in Stover, attending faithful until her health recently failed her.
Hazel was a devoted caretaker of her parents, enjoyed sewing and being part of her church.
Survivors include six cousins, Forrest Brockman of Cole Camp; Martha Ann Brockman of Harrisonville; Elmer Dieckman of Cole Camp; Carmie Moore of Cole Camp; Robert Dieckman of Cole Camp and Margie Nolte of Blackburn; along with other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Laura Ebeling.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 1, at the Christ Lutheran Church in Stover with Rev. Tom Tuura officiating. Interment will be in the Stover Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church on Thursday. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. John's Cemetery (Boeschenville) or the charity of the donor's choice.
