Gloria Jean (Larm) Vollrath

Gloria "Jean" Vollrath, 75, of Pilot Grove, MO passed away Saturday, January 8, 2022, at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, MO.

Jean was born October 31, 1946, in Boonville, MO, the daughter of Jerome and Alfreda (Kempf) Larm.  She graduated from Pilot Grove High School in the class of 1964.

On December 30, 1965, Jean was united in marriage to David Vollrath at St. John Catholic Church in Clear Creek, MO.  Six days after their marriage, David was drafted into the US Army.  Upon his return the happy couple made their home in Pilot Grove, MO where they raised their three sons.

Jean was a 33-year employee of State Farm Insurance in Columbia, MO before her retirement in 2000.  Family and friends were important to Jean and her favorite days included spending time with them.  She loved to travel. She and David celebrated their 25th anniversary in Cancun and 30th in Hawaii.  Over their 56 years of marriage the loving couple proudly visited all 50 states.   Those who knew and loved Jean will fondly remember her generous, bright and fun-loving spirit.  She lived life with grace and was kind to all she met.

Jean is survived by her husband David of the home and their sons Kevin Vollrath and wife Shandy of Lawrence, KS, Jarrett Vollrath and wife Theresa of Lee’s Summit, MO and Chad Vollrath and wife Lori of Pilot Grove.  She is further survived by seven siblings, Glenda Richey and husband Bill of Boonville, Selma Schupp and late husband Bill of Pilot Grove, Mary Rybak of Columbia, Barb Krumm and husband Gerald of Pilot Grove, Marcia Imhoff and husband Norbert of Blackwater, Robert Larm and wife Valerie of Warsaw and Tom Larm and wife Cindy of Boonville.  Jean will also be greatly missed by granddaughters Catherine and Caroline (Kevin), Isabella and Rylee (Jarrett) and Chloe and Leah (Chad).

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Jerome and Alfreda Larm.

The Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 pm Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Pilot Grove, MO.  Following the Rosary family will receive friends until 7:00 pm.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am January 12, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
