Geneva L. Edwards, age 93, of Russellville died Thursday, June 10, 2010, at Heisinger Bluffs in Jefferson City.
She was born May 3, 1917, in Russellville a daughter of the late Charles and Mary Bolton Abbott. On November 23, 1939, in St. Louis, Geneva married Albert "Al" Edwards and he preceded her in death January 17, 2005.
She and her husband owned Edwards Garage in Russellville, where she served as the bookkeeper for many years.
Geneva was a faithful member of the Russellville United Methodist Church, where she was active in the women's groups, served on various committees, taught Sunday School and volunteered with Vacation Bible School. She also volunteered her time with the local Boy and Girl Scout troops.
After retiring she enjoyed going on trips with her husband and playing Bingo.
Survivors include three children and their spouses, Dale and Peggy Edwards, Joan and Wade Volkart and Jack and Sharon Edwards all of Russellville; five grandchildren, Peggy Ranabarger and husband Dan, Donnie Volkart, Tom Volkart and wife Kelly, Rodney Edwards and wife Amy and Travis Edwards, seven great grandchildren, Cole and Javan Payne, Kennedy and Layne Volkart, Justice Miller, and Macie and Courtney Edwards, two step-great grandchildren, Erika Leonard and husband Jeff and Derek Ranabarger and wife Courtney,
one step-great-great grandson, Ethan Leonard, also other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by one brother, Edward Abbott, two sisters, Mickey St. Clair and Billie Farley and one great grandson, Lucas Jack Edwards.
Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Sunday, June 13, at the Russellville United Methodist Church with Pastor Jeannie Martin Webb officiating. Interment will be in the Enloe Cemetery west of Russellville.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 P.M. Sunday, June 13, at the church. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Russellville United Methodist Church Building Fund.
