Frances Lena Bremer Grout, age 97, of Glendale, Arizona, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at Hospice of the Valley in Peoria, Arizona. She was born April 2, 1916, in Smithton, Missouri the daughter of Harry R. and Maggie Imogene Lemler Bremer. She was baptized November 4, 1917, and confirmed April 26, 1930, at St. John's Evangelical Church in Florence, Missouri. On May 27, 1941, Frances was united in marriage to Theodore K. Grout, in Kansas City, and he preceded her in death January 20, 1990. Frances grew up in the Florence community. After graduating from high school she moved to Kansas City. She was a small town girl, who loved being in the city and enjoyed all it had to offer. She was employed for 40 years with Hudson and Highway Oil Company in Kansas City, Kansas and Topeka, Kansas, retiring as Vice-President in 1981. For the past ten years she resided with her son in Glendale, Arizona, where she enjoyed being with her family.
Survivors include one son, Theodore K. Grout, Jr., and wife Fran; one granddaughter Tamisha Fogo and husband Dave; and two great grandchildren, Cody and Madisyn Fogo, all of the Phoenix area, along with other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 10, at St. John's UCC Cemetery in Florence with Pastor Duane Levin officiating.
