Flossie Stevenson Williams

Flossie Stevenson Williams, age 97, of Versailles, passed away, Wednesday, December 17, 2014, at the Good Shepherd Care Center in Versailles.
She was born April 15, 1917, in Morgan County, a daughter of Osborn Lee and Lillie Mabel Broyles Riggs. On February 5, 1937, Flossie was united in marriage to Wray Stevenson, who preceded her in death January 16, 1982. On August 31, 1983, she was united in marriage to Norman E. Williams and he preceded her in death December 6, 1992.
Flossie retired from the Kansas City Bifocal Plant in Versailles.
She was a charter member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church and attended Ritchie Baptist Church, both located near Versailles.
She liked working in her flower garden and also stayed busy quilting. However, her greatest enjoyment came from visiting with friends and family. Whether it was talking on the phone, or meeting someone new, she always had a kind word for everyone she met.
Survivors include two daughters, Lois Vansell of Gravois Mills and Doris Thomas and husband Skip of Camdenton; two granddaughters, Lokeene Bowersox and husband Rod and Kara Webb, two great grandchildren, Russell Sebren and Necole Sherwin and husband Gary, one great-great granddaughter, Lyla Sherwin, special family members, Corky and Emma Vogt of Versailles; a stepson, Lonnie Joe Williams and wife Kay of Versailles; two step daughters-in-law, Delores Williams of Stover and Rose Williams of Versailles; a sister-in-law, Lois Riggs of Versailles; eleven step grandchildren, numerous step great grandchildren and step great-great grandchildren, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husbands, Flossie was preceded in death by her parents, a son-in-law, Frank Vansell, two stepsons, Eddie and Dale Williams, a brother, Marvin Riggs, and three sisters, Helen Coit, Pauline Thatcher and Letha Cox.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, December 20, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Richard Willis officiating. Interment will be in the Versailles Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until service time at the funeral home on Saturday.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church or the Ritchie Baptist Church.
