Florene Christina Schnirch

April 21, 1933 — July 8, 2019

Florene Christina Schnirch, age 86, of Versailles passed away Monday, July 8, 2019 at her home.

She was born April 21, 1933 to Edward and Laura Pauline Bahrenburg Moellman in the rural community of Brauersville in Benton County, Missouri.  She was baptized May 14, 1933 at Brauersville Immanuel Lutheran Church and confirmed Palm Sunday, March 30, 1947, at Christ Lutheran Church in Stover by Pastor Kolm.

On March 14, 1964, she was united in marriage to Edgar H. Schnirch at the Christ Lutheran Church.  Edgar preceded her in death on July 16, 2000.

Florene was a 1951 graduate of Stover High School.

She was a homemaker, who devoted her life to caring for her family.

Florene was an active and faithful member of the Christ Lutheran Church in Stover, where she volunteered on the dinner committee and with the work day committee.

She was a gifted seamstress, making quilts for each of her grandchildren, along with sewing numerous quilts to be given to the Festival of Sharing for fundraising.  For the past several years Florene shared her love of sewing by making the Baptism Napkins for the church.

Her home was a place for family and friends to gather and her greatest treasure was spending time with her children and their families.

Survivors include four children, Jackie Roller of Blue Springs; Jerrie Goodman of Odessa; Jeanie Wooten of Kansas City and James A. Wooten of Oak Grove; one sister, Lavona Garber of Versailles; three sisters-in-law, Judy Moellman of Stover; Betty James of Versailles and Mary Johnson of Ashton, Iowa; six grandchildren, Sheila Locke. Stefanie Eubanks and husband Nate, Lori Weygandt and husband Jason, Josh Goodman and wife Carrey Beth, Laura Lespagnard and Jessica Vessey. eleven great grandchildren, Libbie and Layla Hayes, Ashlyn, Hadley and Annie Eubanks, Alyson Smothers and husband Ben, Austin Weygandt and wife Morgan, Kane Wolkey, Saedi Riley and husband Gage, and Hannah and Bridger Goodman, four great-great grandchildren, Beau and Paige Smothers and Maelee and Cooper Riley, along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband, Florene was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Edgar H. Schnirch, Jr. and two brothers, Elroy and Orville Moellman.

Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 13, at the Christ Lutheran Church in Stover with Pastor Tom Tuura officiating.  Interment will be in the Kipp Addition of the Stover Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 13, at the Christ Lutheran Church in Stover.

Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
