Evelyn Ella Harding

Evelyn Ella Harding age 93, of Versailles, died Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at the Good Shepherd Care Center in Versailles.
She was born December 19, 1916, in St. Louis, a daughter of Leonard and Sarah Alice Stogsdill Scott. On June 28, 1952, Evelyn was united in marriage to Norvel Joseph Harding at the St. Louis County Courthouse. Norvel preceded her in death August 9, 1984.
Evelyn was a graduate of Beaumont High School in St. Louis.
She retired as Supervisor from St. Louis Blue Cross, after 37 years of employment.
Evelyn and Norvel left St. Louis and made the Golden Beach community at the Lake of the Ozarks their home, later moving to Versailles.
In 1941, Evelyn helped charter the St. Louis Tip Toppers, which was a tall club. After moving to the Lake she became part of the St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church parish, where she was active in the Ladies Club. She also enjoyed collecting Precious Moments figurines and riding the OATS bus.
Survivors include two nephews, Robert L. Heien and wife Kathryn of Westminster, Colorado and Gary A. Scott and wife Laura of Valley Park, Missouri; two nieces, Karen A. Pope of Bloomington, Illinois and Julia Ann Scott of San Jose, California; a sister-in-law, Virginia Scott of Chesterfield, Missouri; a step daughter, Barbara Lee Repp and husband Neal, of Pacific, Missouri; also several great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Leonard Allen Scott, one sister, Ruth Heien and a brother-in-law, Elmer Heien.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 A.M. Monday, May 3, at St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church with Father C.D. Ryan officiating. Interment will be in the Greenmore Memorial Gardens in Barnett.
The family will receive friends from 4:00-5:00 P.M. Sunday, May 2, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Versailles, with a Prayer service at 5:00 P.M.
