Emma Anna Esther Ott Blochberger

Emma Anna Esther Ott Blochberger, age 96, of Eugene, died Friday, December 11, 2009, at Jefferson City Manor.
She was born November 30, 1913, in Cole County, a daughter of J.W. "Bill" and Minnie Propst Ott. She was baptized December 25, 1913, and confirmed April 10, 1926, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Honey Creek. The confirmation verse chosen was Luke 10:42. "But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her."
On December 28, 1937, she married Adam Ello Blochberger, who preceded her in death July 2, 2003.
Emma attended the Oak Grove School.
For several years she was a caretaker for newborn infants and did housekeeping in Jefferson City.
Emma enjoyed her life on the family farm, where she stayed busy tending to her garden. She was also a fantastic cook and an accomplished seamstress and quilter.
She was a lifelong, faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church at Honey Creek.
Survivors include a son and daughter in-law, Bill and Jane Blochberger of Jefferson City; a sister, Ruth Burton of Brazito; three grandchildren and their spouses, Bill, Jr. and Shellie Blochberger, Betty and Mitch Berendzen and Scott and Melanie Blochberger, seven great grandchildren, Adam Berendzen, Mary Blochberger, Kendra Berendzen, Cameron Berendzen, Erin Blochberger, Andrea Blochberger and Trent Blochberger, also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, Emma was preceded in death her parents, four brothers, Ernest, Bill, Edgar and Paul Ott and three sisters, Elsie Knernschield, Frieda Schubert and Esther Jungmeyer.
Services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 16, at Immanuel Lutheran Church-Honey Creek, with Pastor Jeffrey Schanbacher officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 15, at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, Russellville. Memorial contributions are suggested to Immanuel Lutheran Church or School at Honey Creek.
