Elroy Fritz Wehrman

Elroy Fritz Wehrman, age 81, lifelong resident of Stover; passed away Saturday evening, August 17, 2019, at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia following a sudden illness.

He was born July 1, 1938, at Stover, a son of John Henry and Pearlie Kerksiek Wehrman.  Elroy was baptized as an infant and confirmed at the Trinity Lutheran Church at Pyrmont on May 11, 1952.

Elroy contracted polio at the age of sixteen.  He was a cattle farmer, enjoyed baling hay and was a gardener.

He enjoyed going to the sale barn and the Show-Me auctions.  He was an avid outdoorsman and looked forward to fishing and hunting, going on walks to see the wildlife and looking for mushrooms and arrowheads for his collection.

His greatest enjoyment came from spending time with and caring for his nieces and great nieces.

He was a lifelong member of the Trinity Lutheran Church at Pyrmont.

Survivors include one sister, Violet Fischer and her friend Max of Stover; a sister-in-law, Ina Wehrman of Stover; eight nieces and nephews, thirteen great nieces and nephews, along with other relatives and friends.

Elroy was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Leonard Wehrman, a sister, Viola Beaver, two brothers-in-law, Jim Fischer and Dale Beaver, a nephew, Phillip Wehrman and a great niece, Dawn Elizabeth Fischer.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 21, at the Trinity Lutheran Church at Pyrmont, with Pastor Anne Kyle officiating.  Burial will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery at Pyrmont.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church on Wednesday.
