Elizabeth Kate Raney

July 11, 1990 — October 16, 2020

Elizabeth Kate Raney came into this world on July 11, 1990 in the small town of Crossett, Arkansas.  Her parents, Billy Ray and Barbara Bradford Corker, welcomed Beth into their growing family which now included one boy and two girls.

Beth grew up in Arkansas.  Following graduation from high school she enlisted in the United States Army where she served her country in Afghanistan; receiving her honorable discharge in 2013.

While she was serving in the Army, Beth met her soulmate, Darrin LaFoy.  Beth and Darrin married February 24, 2013 in the state of Colorado; after leaving the Army they settled in southern Morgan County, near where Darrin grew up.  Before long the family of two expanded to three, with the arrival of their son, Kinley.

Beth’s military experience led her to work for the Morgan County Sheriff’s Department at the Adult Detention Center in Versailles, where she was employed for several years.

Beth and Darrin had a very special connection, both were extremely artistic and it wasn’t long before Beth, with Darrin’s encouragement, began taking up pour painting.  Her ability to see and combine color and design led her to a new venture, actually selling her artwork on Etsy, which turned her hobby into professional art.

When Beth wasn’t working on her art, she loved spending time with her family and especially enjoyed encouraging Kinley; who at the age of 6 was already showing signs of his artistic ability.

It was Friday afternoon, October 16, 2020, while on her way to pick up Kinley from school that Beth’s truck unexpectedly went off the road and she died instantly from the injuries sustained in the accident.

Beth is survived by her husband Darrin and their son, Kinley of the home south of Stover; her father and stepmother, Billy Ray and Lisa Corker of Arkansas; a sister, Neci Eppimette of Texas; along with other relatives and friends.

Beth was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara and her brother Johnathan.

In keeping with her wishes, she was cremated.  A private service will be held at a later date.
