Edwin Albin Holmberg

August 27, 1925 — April 29, 2016

Edwin Albin Holmberg, 90, of Tipton passed away Friday, April 29, 2016 at Tipton Oak Manor. He was born in 1925 to George and Florence Holmberg in Kansas City, Missouri where he lived and worked until he and his wife moved to Tipton after retirement.

He married Tillie Embry on April 28, 1955 who survives in the home.

He is predeceased by his parents, three sisters, and three brothers.

Ed served in the Navy during World War II and also in Korea. He belonged to several military organizations and traveled to many Navy reunions. He was a member in the American Legion in Kansas City and then transferred to the Tipton American Legion. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tipton.

Ed loved his many nieces and nephews. He loved his pets and spent much time taking care of them.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 Monday, May 2, 2016 at Meisenheimer Funeral Home in Tipton with burial immediately following in the Moreau Cemetery near Tipton. Visitation will be from 10 - 11 AM Monday prior to the funeral service.

Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church of Tipton or the Sedalia Animal Shelter; PO Box 1171; Sedalia, MO 65302.
