Edward Owen Lavery, Sr.

Edward Owen Lavery, Sr., 81, of Tipton passed away Friday, April 22, 2016 at Tipton Oak Manor. He was one of 10 children born to Charles William and Cecelia Marie Lavery in Kansas City, Kansas.

He moved to Tipton with his family in 1971.

Edward was an over the road truck driver for most of his working career. Upon retirement he was able to concentrate on his favorite hobby of fishing and camping. After doing all the fishing he wanted, he decided to go back to work and began a gutter installation company which kept him active and busy until his second retirement. He enjoyed spending time with family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son Michael Joseph Lavery; brother Ralph and sister Shirley.

He is survived by sons Edward Owen Lavery, Jr., and his wife Cinda of Tipton and Stephen Ronald Lavery of Crowley, TX; daughters Debora Wright and her husband Ricky of Ft. Worth, TX., Cheryl Weigel and her husband John of Blue Springs, MO., Patricia Vincent and her husband Ben of Azle, TX., Tammy Baldwin and her husband David of Blue Springs, MO.; brothers Chuck Lavery, Bob Lavery and his wife Joyce, Frank Lavery and his wife Ann, Paul Lavery and his wife Rosalie, Melvin Lavery and his wife Rita; sisters Margaret Mary Kirkpatrick and Teresa Boydston and her husband Dave; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 AM Monday, April 25, 2016 at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Tipton with burial immediately following in St. Andrews Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4-6 PM Sunday at Meisenheimer Funeral Home in Tipton with a Rosary beginning at 3:30.
