Edward R. "Ed" Carrington

Edward Roy "Ed" Carrington, age 89, of Gravois Mills, Missouri, died Monday, July 26, 2010, at the Laurie Care Center in Laurie, Missouri.
He was born November 18, 1920, in Kansas City, Kansas the only child of Bert and Edna Worrel Carrington. On February 6, 1943, at the Quindaro Christian Church in Kansas City, Kansas, Ed was united in marriage to Margaret Shaw. Marge survives at their home.
He was a 1940 graduate of Wyandotte High School.
As a young man Ed was employed with North American Aviation. In 1947, Ed and Marge moved to Gravois Mills, at the Lake of the Ozarks, where they owned and operated Two Waters Resort until 2007. In addition to running the resort, Ed also worked for many years with the Missouri Department of Conservation as a Creel Agent, retiring in 1984.
Ed was an accomplished musician, playing drums for many bands in the Kansas City area during the 1940's.
He was a devoted family man. His greatest enjoyment came from being with his wife, daughters, nephew, and extended family.
In addition to his beloved wife of 67 years, he is survived by a daughter, Mary Carrington-Harris and husband Mark of Kansas City, Kansas; a special nephew, Ken Boyer and wife Barbara of Jupiter, Florida; extended family members, Rob and Karen Exon and Bob Shouse, along with many friends.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Ruth Ann Carrington in 2003.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, July 29, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Versailles, with friends received from 1:00 P.M. until service time. Interment will be in the Oak Park Addition of the Versailles Cemetery.
