Eddie Burnett, Sr., age 49, of Versailles, died Wednesday, November 4, 2009, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born June 13, 1960, in California, Missouri a son of Les and Ruth Ann Bailey Burnett.
Eddie lived in the state of Alabama for 14 years, where he was employed building guard rails and later as a paint mixer for Benjamin-Moore Paint Manufacturing. He returned to Morgan County to be near his family due to failing health.
He was a member of the Mt. Calvary Freewill Baptist Church near Stover. His great enjoyment came from the time he could spend spoiling his grandchildren and teasing his nephews and nieces.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Eddie Jr., and Kelly Burnett of Versailles; five stepchildren, Chante, Bridgette, Misty, Tara and Matthew, two brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Shirley Burnett and Russell and Margaret Burnett all of Stover; one sister, Linda Lutjen of Stover; three grandchildren, Hailey, Katlyn and Brianna Burnett, also aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Eddie was preceded in death by is parents and a brother-in-law, Randy Lutjen.
Funeral services will be 12:00 noon Monday, November 9, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Stover with Bro. Gene Burnett officiating. Interment will be in the Chaney Chapel Cemetery south of Stover.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. - 12:00 noon on Monday, November 9, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Stover.
