Earl Blochberger age 94, of Russellville, died Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at Jefferson City Manor Care Center.
He was born June 23, 1917, on the family farm near Russellville, a son of J. Edward and Hilda Kiesling Blochberger. He was baptized July 15, 1917, and confirmed April 17, 1932, at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Lohman.
Earl farmed in the Russellville and Lohman communities his entire life..
He was a lifelong, faithful member of the St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Lohman.
He enjoyed being on the farm and going to auctions and tractor sales. He was always ready to play cards with family and friends. Survivors include his longtime companion, Edith Hammann of Lohman; one brother, Elmer Blochberger of Jefferson City; one sister, Charlene Distler of Jefferson City; three nephews, Sam (Dawn) Blochberger, Bill (Jane) Blochberger and Don (Jane) Distler, one niece, Deb (Garth) Englund, several great nieces and nephews and their families, along with other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Ello Blochberger and Raymond Blochberger and one niece, Mary Blochberger.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, July 2, at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Lohman with Pastor Edward Merckel officiating. Interment will be in the St. Pauls Lutheran Cemetery in Lohman.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 A.M. - 10:00 A.M. Saturday, July 2, at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Lohman.
