Dorothy Lee Kuttenkuler, 96, of Tipton, passed away Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at her home.
A daughter of John and Louise (Balduc) Schwickrath, Dorothy was born on October 12, 1924 in Tipton. She was united in marriage on July 22, 1944, in Tipton, MO, to Charles John Kuttenkuler, who preceded her in death on January 26, 2006.
She graduated from Tipton High School and was very active in church and community organizations including the Altar Society, Daughters of Isabella, CCD, Extension Club, and several bowling leagues. She spearheaded the craft fundraiser for the St. Andrews Thanksgiving Festival for many years and was active in groups to protect our environment.
Always a voracious reader, additional hobbies included sewing, quilting, and making handicrafts, especially angels and Christmas ornaments. Dorothy never missed a chance to vote and liked to stay informed on current events including world, national, and local news.
Every night Dorothy prayed for all her children and grandchildren by name and passed on to her family deep faith, love for family, and the importance of community.
Left to carry on Dorothy's legacy include her four sons, Bob Kuttenkuler, Russ Kuttenkuler (Emily), Mike Kuttenkuler (Fay), and Steve Kuttenkuler; four daughters, Janet Bell (Stan), Jean Kuttenkuler Gross (Paul), Brenda Jurgens (Pat), and Donna Garber; one daughter-in-law, Carolyn Kuttenkuler, one brother, Bob Schwickrath; twenty-seven grandchildren; fifty-seven great grandchildren; eighteen great-great grandchildren; along with many dear nieces, nephews friends and her earthly angel caretaker, Vicky Garcia.
In addition to her husband, Charles, and her parents she is preceded in death by a son Jim Kuttenkuler; a son-in-law, Randy Garber, daughter-in-law, Elaine Kuttenkuler; two grandchildren, Steven and Debbie Bestgen; two brothers, Cecil White and Joe Schwickrath; and one sister, Jackie Cullen.
Prayers of the Rosary will be said at 8:30 a.m. Monday, August 30, 2021, at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Tipton, followed by visitation until service time. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday at the church with burial to follow at the St. Andrew Cemetery.
