Doris M. Spencer

Doris M. Spencer, age 77, of the Ivy Bend community south of Stover, died Saturday, November 13, 2010, at her home.
She was born February 23, 1933, in Savanna, Illiniois the only daughter of Leo and Dorothy Sage Nast. Doris was united in marriage to Paul E. Spencer on November 5, 1950, and he preceded her in death February 13, 2001.
Paul and Doris owned and operated Spencer's Bait and Tackle in Ivy Bend.
Doris was active in the Ivy Bend community and was a member of the Women's Fire Auxiliary Board and the First Responder's Booster Club.
She was a devoted wife and mother, who enjoyed spending time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing Bingo and going fishing.
Survivors include three children, Dave Spencer and wife Linda, Ron Spencer and wife Karen and Kim Becker and husband Tim, all of Ivy Bend; four grandchildren, Bradley Spencer, Angie Vinson and husband Skip, Cody Spencer and Bryce Brewer, four great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Matthew, Noah and Sarah Vinson, also nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Leo Nast, Jr., Donald Nast and Chuck Nast.
A memorial service will be held at 5:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 17, at Skipper's Bar and Grill on Ivy Bend Road in Ivy Bend, with Rev. Larry Thompson officiating. A reception will immediately follow the service on Wednesday.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Golden Age Living Center in Stover.
