Doris Mae Ross, age 84, of the Ivy Bend community south of Stover, died Friday, November 14, 2008, at the Good Shepherd Care Center in Versailles.
She was born April 10, 1924, in Sedalia, Missouri a daughter of Charles and Emma Rimel Hays. On September 22, 1943, Doris was united in marriage to Gene Ross, and he preceded her in death July 16, 1980.
She was a homemaker, busy raising her two sons. The Ross family resided in Kansas City, Missouri, until making Ivy Bend their home in 1975.
She enjoyed talking with friends and family, reading and collecting cookbooks.
Doris is survived by one son, Michael A. Ross of the home; one sister, Carol Campbell and husband Stan of Pleasant Hope, Missouri; one brother, Robert Hays and wife Thelma of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one granddaughter, Michelle Fuelling of Chillicothe, Missouri; one great grandson, Canaan Fuelling, also other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Patrick Eugene Ross and two brothers, Jean Hays and Wayne Hays.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 18, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Stover with Rev. Tony Shaw officiating. Burial will be in the Stover Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until service time on Tuesday.
