Donald Wray Riggs

Donald Wray Riggs, age 83, of California, went to be with the Lord, Friday, October 19, 2012, at his home.
He was born March 3, 1929, in St. Joseph, Missouri a son of Daniel Boone and Lealyea Broyles Riggs, who preceded him in death.
On December 2, 1999, Donald was united in marriage to Wanda Smith, who survives at their home.
Donald attended grade school at Oak Grove and Providence schools and Versailles High School.
He resided in the Latham area for many years where he enjoyed working on his farm.
Donald was a member of Laborers International Union of North America Local #662 for thirty-five years, mostly working at the Nuclear Plant in Callaway County.
He was saved at the West Union Baptist Church in 1948 and was a member of the Green Grove Baptist church near Latham for many years. Donald was currently a faithful and active member of the Family Worship Center in Versailles, where he was a member of the Bridge Builders Senior Group and publisher of the Bridge Builders Magazine for seven years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children from an earlier marriage, Larry Riggs of Versailles; Donna Miller and husband Bernie of Versailles and Sue Mullins of Latham; a grandson, who he raised as his son, Travis Riggs and wife Jennifer of Versailles; three stepchildren, Duane Smith of Clarksburg; Janeice Zahner and husband Jerry of Punta Gorda, Florida and Robin Green and husband Craig of Bullhead City, Arizona; seven grandchildren, Merrie, Laurie, Nicole, Jennifer Colleen, Arnold, Penny and Cody, a step granddaughter, Jessica Zahner; sixteen great grandchildren, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Donald was also preceded in death by two brothers, Douglas M. and Gerald A. Riggs, one sister, Bernice Lee Riggs, a grandson, Donald Dean Riggs and two nephews, Harvey and David Riggs.
Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 23, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Versailles with friends received from 10:30 a.m. until service time at the funeral home on Tuesday. Rev. Danny Owsley will officiate. Interment will be in the Ritchie Cemetery south west of Versailles. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Donald W. Riggs Memorial Fund % of Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, 210 E Jasper St., Versailles, MO 65084.
