Donald Paul Dampf, age 77, of Russellville, passed away, Friday, March 2, 2012, at St. Marys Health Center in Jefferson City.
He was born January 8, 1935, on the family farm near Russellville a son of Herschel and Virgie Scott Dampf, who preceded him in death. On April 6, 1956, at the Hickory Hill Baptist Church, Donald Paul was united in marriage to Ruth M. Hogg, who survives at their home.
He was a 1953 graduate of Russellville High School.
Donald Paul's banking career began with Exchange Bank in Jefferson City, where he was employed for eleven years. He retired as President and Chief Financial Officer of the Community Bank of Russellville in 2001, after thirty-three years of employment.
He was a member of the Corticelli Baptist Church west of Russellville.
In his heart he was a cattleman, spending his entire life on the farm where he was born. He enjoyed being on horseback, whether it be working cattle or on trail rides. To him a vacation was spending time in the fields, feeding his cattle, putting up hay or being on his tractor.
Donald Paul also enjoyed the time he could spend with his family. He enjoyed working alongside his sons, and was a dedicated supporter of his grandchildren's activities.
In addition to his wife of 55 years, he is survived by three children, Terry Spieler and special friend Mark Rhoads of Jefferson City; Mark Dampf and wife Jennifer and Danny Dampf and wife Jennifer all of Russellville; one sister, Bonnie Sestak of Russellville; seven grandchildren, Aaron Spieler and special friend Ashley Luttrell, Abby Spieler, Drew and Kelci Dampf and Halie, Molly and Isaac Dampf, his first great grandchild is due in August of 2012, two nieces and a nephew, Betty Parker, Bruce Sestak and Brenda Miller, along with other relatives and many friends.
The family will receive friends from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, at the Corticelli Baptist Church located at 57731 Highway C, west of Russellville.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 7, at the Corticelli Baptist Church with Pastor Peter Kurowski officiating the services. Interment will be in the Enloe Cemetery west of Russellville.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association or The Arthritis Foundation-Juvenile Arthritis Research.
