Dona Jean Holem, 74, of Stover, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2022, at Golden Age Living Center, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born August 10, 1947, in St. Charles, MO, daughter of Johnnie and Footsie Holem.
Dona was a 1967 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School in Sedalia. She worked in area nursing homes and provided in-home care for the elderly. She was beloved by those she cared for.
Dona loved animals, watching movies, and going to shows in Branson.
She loved her church, St. Phillip Benizi Catholic Church in Versailles and enjoyed watching Mass on TV.
Dona was an example of love. She had a magnetic personality, never knew a stranger, and loved to visit with everyone. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Surviving are her parents, Johnnie and Footsie Holem, of Stover; three brothers, Richard Holem (Judy) of Otterville, Johnnie Holem Jr. (Sandy) of Stover, and Robert Holem (Cindy) of Sedalia; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Laurel Holem and a great-nephew, Lane Holem.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 11, 2022 at St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church in Versailles with Prayers of the Rosary being said at 10:30 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the church.
Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Laurie.
Memorials are suggested to Hospice Compassus, in care of Scrivner-Page-Dady Funeral Home in Stover.
