Dennis Lee Raines

Dennis Lee Raines, age 51, of Versailles, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, January 11, 2014, at his home.
He was born December 2, 1962, at Whiteman Air Force Base near Knob Noster a son of Louis and Lucille Colvin Raines.
Dennis was 1980 graduate of Versailles High School.
Shortly following graduation Dennis went to work for Fasco Industries in Eldon, where he worked until the plant closed a few years ago. At the time of his death he was employed with Gates Corporation in Versailles.
Dennis enjoyed cooking, spending time on the water fishing and quiet evenings at home.
Survivors include his wife, Angela Raines of Versailles; his father, Louis Raines of Versailles; one son, Dereck Raines and wife Amber of Kansas City; two step children, Roger Ferguson and wife, Brandy of Jefferson City and Shelli Hornberger and husband Brian of Eudora, Kansas; one sister, Lyndia Brown and companion Steve Decker of Versailles; three grandchildren, David, Naveya and Pyper Raines and five step grandchildren, Sabrina, David, Trista, Devin and Elliot, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Dennis was preceded in death by his mother, Lucille Raines, one brother, Eddie Raines, one sister, Leisa Franklin and one step granddaughter, Chloe.
A Celebration of Dennis' life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 18, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Robert Ross officiating.
In keeping with his wishes, Dennis was cremated.
