Delores Ruth Claas

June 27, 1933 — August 26, 2024

Tipton

Delores Ruth Claas, age 91, of Tipton, MO, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 26, 2024, at Tipton Oak Manor. Born on June 27, 1933, in Mt. Pleasant, MO, she was the daughter of Bennie and Velma Bond June. Delores married the love of her life, David Paul Claas, on May 29, 1951, at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Tipton, and together they built a family filled with love, laughter, and cherished traditions.

Delores was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her love for her family was evident in everything she did, from family gatherings to her famous coffee cake. Her pride in her grandchildren knew no bounds, and she relished every moment spent with them.

A devout Catholic, Delores was steadfast in her faith and lived her life with grace and dedication. She found joy in her routines, her “therapy” groups with her dear lady friends, and simple pleasures like playing cards, reading, and listening to her beloved St. Louis Cardinals.

Though small in stature, Delores was mighty in spirit. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and strength. She was truly “Claasy.”

Delores is survived by her three children, Rosalind Adkins of Hallsville, Howard Claas (Janice) of Tipton, and Marleen Lenger (Lenny) of Tipton; eight grandchildren, Chad Adkins (Candace), Kyle Adkins (Melissa), Luke Claas (Jackie), Eric Adkins (Pamela), Amanda Pettigrew (Toby), Adam Adkins (Ashlee), Chelsea Elkins (Brandon), and David Richardson (Bailey); and fifteen great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and her beloved husband David, Delores was preceded in death by her son, Gordon Claas; her brother, Leslie Allison; her sister, Norma Hays; and her son-in-law, Richard Adkins.

The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will take place on Sunday, September 1, 2024, at 4:00 p.m., followed by visitation until 7:00 p.m. at the Meisenheimer-Page-Dady Funeral Home in Tipton, MO.
