Delmar "Buck" Paul Golden

Delmar Paul "Buck" Golden, age 78, of Russellville, died Wednesday, September 8, 2010, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.
He was born October 18, 1931, in Henley, a son of Joe L. and Stella Wilson Golden, both deceased. On November 17, 1956, at St. Johns Lutheran Church at Babbtown, he married Laura Ida Mueller, who preceded him in death October 13, 2001.
He was a graduate of Eugene High School.
"Buck" was a union carpenter for several years, working construction throughout Central Missouri. He later worked as a janitor with the Missouri Highway Patrol and the Eugene High School.
He also enjoyed working on his farm near Russellville
He, along with his late wife, helped found the Peace Lutheran Church located south of Jefferson City on 54 Highway.
"Buck" enjoyed being outdoors where he could hunt, fish, look for mushrooms and trap. He also enjoyed a good card game, especially pitch and pinochle. However, his greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his grandchildren, whether it was at his farm or attending all of their sporting events.
Survivors include four children and their spouses, Joe and Mary Golden of Eugene; Sheila Schulte of Jefferson City; Lisa and Darin Blankenship of Tuscumbia and Julia and Shawn Schillpp of Russellville; five sisters, Dorothy Wheeler of Rancho Cucamonga, California; Esther Swiney of Visalia, California; Mary White of Eldon; Ina Kempker and Carolyn Campbell both of Jefferson City; fourteen grandchildren, Joe Golden and wife Lori, Sara, Jennifer and Brian Golden, Angela Farris and husband Jesse, Amelia Schulte, Jeffrey, Morgan and Victoria Ocheskey, Maddie and Brent Blankenship and Kassidy, Preston and Katelyn Schillpp, four great grandchildren, Landry, Eli and Lyla Golden and Caden Farris, also nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Pohlman and a great granddaughter, Grace McKenna Farris.
Services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, September 11, at Peace Lutheran Church with Pastor Micah Ernest and Pastor Erik Gernander officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Friends will be received from 5:00-8:00 P.M. Friday, September 10, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Russellville. Memorial contributions are suggested to Service to the Armed Forces, (an emergency fund to bring soldiers home) % American Red Cross, 431 E. McCarty St., Jefferson City, MO 65101.
