Delbert Lee "Bud" Kerr

Delbert Lee "Bud" Kerr, age 64, of Russellville, passed away peacefully, Friday, September 9, 2016, at his home.
He was born April 2, 1952, in Safe, Missouri, a son of Merle and Elsie Mae Patterson Kerr. On December 13, 1976, in Russellville, Bud was united in marriage to Rita Piburn, who survives at their home.
He served his country in the US Navy from September 1972 - September 1975 as a sub-tender, working on the electrical systems of the Navy's submarine fleet.
After receiving his honorable discharge, Bud continued his career as an electrician with IBEW local 257 in Jefferson City.
He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed fishing, hunting and being on his farm. For many years he and Rita explored the countryside in their travel trailer. Bud also enjoyed relaxing evenings at home with Rita and his canine companion, Sparky.
In addition to his wife of forty years, he is survived by their adopted daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Tim Kauffman of Lohman, three grandchildren, Elizabeth, Grace and Brady Kauffman, two brothers, Wayne Kerr of Jefferson City and Jerry Dean Kerr and wife Joann of California state; two sisters, Betty Bond and Shirley Crawford both of Dothan, Alabama; along many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Bob and Kenny Kerr and one sister, Brenda Shehorn.
In keeping with his wishes, he will be cremated. Services will be held at a later date.
